OK, so Jenna and I had to take Sam to the vet's office on Wednesday. Since he is a wild, big dog they put us in the big exam room. This room has an exam table that starts low and raises up electronically. This table also has a built-in scale. While we were waiting on the vet to come in I let Jenna roam around the room. She decided to climb up on the exam table while it was in the lowered position. She was sitting there very still and the scale measured her to be 26.5 lbs. As you may recall from her appointment on Monday, the pediatrician's office weighed her to be 29.9 lbs. That would be a weight gain of 6.8 lbs in the three months since her 15-month appointment. This seemed like a lot, but I didn't have any reason to question the scale at the pediatrician's office at the time. Now I do! I wish I knew which scale is more accurate!

Our sweet Jenna Lu is 18 months old today! I can't believe it. We marked the milestone with her 18 month well-baby check-up this morning. She is 31.5 inches tall (50th percentile) and 29.9 pounds (75th percentile). If the old wives tale holds true, Jenna will be 5'3" tall when she is an adult - the exact same height as me! For those of you that don't know the old wives tale, they say that if you double the baby's height at age 18 months then that will tell you how tall they will be as an adult. Also, we had the pleasant surprise of her not needing any shots today! I had been worrying about those awful shots, but she isn't due for anymore until her two-year-old appointment in March!
In other news, Jenna is down to one nap a day. That has been an adjustment for me too. :-) Jenna LOVES to go outside and she has the scraped up knees to prove it. Thankfully the mornings and evenings have become a little more bearable so I don't mind sitting out there with her. Although, today feels wonderful! I wish it would stay like this, but it is Texas. When she is outside she doesn't even need any toys. She is perfectly happy to just walk around! We started the Fall session of Kindermusik last week. I moved her up to the Our Time class (18 months - 3 1/2 years old). That is quite an age range, in my opinion. Based on the first class I can see her being the youngest in class a little bit of a problem, but I think she'll be okay. It will just make it more work for me!Comments:Add a comment:
